
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
I. To review the salient issues relative to ensuring the safety of institutionalized elderly and disabled persons prior to, during, and subsequent to catastrophic events.
II. To identify and evaluate the existing resources for providing such care in the most efficient, effective and timely manner.
III. To develop feasible safety plans for facility use and for consideration by civil authorities, premised upon appropriate data and realistic expectations of the finite resources that are available in the area.
IV. To develop functional coordination between facilities, private and governmental agencies to ensure practical, reasonable and obtainable goals.
V. To fully communicate these ultimate recommendations both within the community of service providers and to the civil authorities in order to provide comprehensive coordination and residual services for the safety of the elderly and disabled in emergency situations.
